The fear inside all of us makes us always awake… we want to close our eyes and sleep in peace… But in this crazy and complex world, we need to keep open one eye…  to know what is happening around us… to be ready for anything new…
Striped… like prisoners in our beliefs and our religions…
For our humanity… our existence…
Light up the darkness...

Rashwan Abdelbaki is a Syrian artist born in 1984 in Damascus, Syria. He graduated from Fine Arts College of Damascus University in 2007. He has had solo exhibitions at Damascus, Beirut, New York, Virginia and several Group Shows in Syria, Lebanon, Europe, Asia and USA. In January 16, 2017, the EFA Studio Program welcomed Rashwan Abdelbaki, as an International Partnership Artist in Residence in collaboration with ArteEast and Artist Protection Fund. We are thrilled to celebrate Rashwan’s first year anniversary at EFA. Rashwan’s International Partnership residency ended in September and he continues as an EFA Studio Member Artist.
