EFA Studio Member Artist Justin Kim presents a formal-historical analysis of Giovanni’s masterpiece. In this original study Kim investigates how the values of the early Renaissance are embodied in the work: symbolically, mathematically, and through observation and perception. Exploring the intersection of spirit and reason, he reveals a key to the painting that has been hiding in plain sight for over 500 years.
Justin Kim is a painter based in New York. He has taught at Yale, Smith College, and Deep Springs College.
