I use play to invent objects, performances, and videos. From concept to process to presentation, play gives me the ease to navigate the absurd precarity of Black life and invite audiences into transformative spaces. I puddle-jump into research, experiment with art materials and everyday objects like beauty products and food, and emerge with new expressions in my colorful Afro-Americana camp style.

For seven years, I’ve played on the civic scale with Fountains for Black Joy. Traditionally the technological toys of privileged magnates, fountains delight while commanding institutional care and maintenance. I usurped the power embedded in this form, claiming these resources for Black femme fun.
